LAO 702 - LAOS DISCOVERY TOUR
DEPARTURE: Program begins with arrival in Chiang Mai on Wednesday and Saturday (at the moment direct flights to Luang Prabang only Thursday and Sunday available.........other days tour on request and small changes to the itinerary on day 1+2), minimum 2 persons
DAY 1 CHIANG MAI On arrival transfer to the hotel in the city centre and short briefing about the tour. Rest of the day at leisure in the northern capital of Thailand.
DAY 2 CHIANG MAI - LUANG PRABANG In the morning take a one hour flight to the former royal Laotian town of Luang Prabang. Visa upon arrival at the airport against a fee of US$ 30.-). Transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a boat trip on the Mekong and visit the holy Tam Ting caves at Pak Ou, that are enshrining numerous Buddha images. On the way back stop at a riverside village, which is famous for rice wine distillation.
DAY 3 LUANG PRABANG Visit Kuangsy waterfall and some remote villages, which also includes the weaving village of Ban Phanom. Late afternoon take a tour in the old Laotian capital and see the former King's palace and other sights of the town.
DAY 4 LUANG PRABANG - VANGVIENG In the morning start for an approx. 6 hour drive through some beautiful mountain wilderness, along many remote hill tribe (most of them Hmong) villages. Arrive in Vangvieng in the afternoon, a small town in the middle of some picturesque landscapes. Stay at a hotel on the banks of the Song River.
DAY 5 VANGVIENG - VIENTIANE B/L Enjoy the nice surroundings with many lime stone cliffs and caves and observe the daily life along the river. Drive for approx. three hours to Vientiane and take a sightseeing tour in the Laotian capital, which includes all major sights and the central market as well. Overnight in the city centre.
DAY 6 VIENTIANE B Day at leisure until departure. Transfer to the airport or Lao/Thai border over the Friendship Birge at Nong Khai.
FlEXIBILITY: On request it is possible to do this itinerary vice versa and start of the tour in Vientiane and end in Chiang Mai Extra nights can be added in Luang Prabang, Vangvieng or Vientiane. Continue your journey from Vientiane (Laos) via Nong Khai or Udon Thani to Bangkok? Train tickets for night train Nong Khai - Bangkok, as well as domestic air tickets for flight from Udon Thani to Bangkok can be booked with us.
VISA: Will be provided at arrival in Luang Prabang Airport at US$ 30.- per Pax

This itinerary starts with a flight from Chiang
Mai to the old royal Laotian town of Luang Prabang on the banks
of the Mekong River and continues through the mountain wilderness
